Today I read an article where an "analyst" is concerned about Cisco Systems (CSCO) earnings - due after today's Wall Street closing bell - because of the disappointing ones from Sun Microsystems (JAVA) last week.

Now I ask: what Cisco has to do with Sun?

Answer: little: just the tech sector.


Another question: is it right to estimate earnings of a company with excellent current and past financial performance such as Cisco based on the earnings of a current and past poor financial performance such as Sun?

Answer: no.
